Michael M. Chvatal, Attorney at Law

Michael M. Chvatal earned his law degree from The John Marshall Law School in 2005 and his Bachelor of Business Administration from The University of Iowa in 2002.

After receiving his law degree, Michael went to work for the Cook County States’ Attorney’s Office, as an Assistant States Attorney. Within this role, he prosecuted crimes committed in the 4th District, handling hundreds of traffic, and criminal offenses. Prior to running a court room, He was assigned to the Appeals division, and was accountable for a volume of 20+ appeals in the Illinois Supreme and Appellate Courts, including a Published Opinion (People v. Cunningham 2007 Ill. App. LEXIS 1018).

In 2009, Michael left his role as Assistant States Attorney and went to work for the law firm of Serpe and Dizonno. His primary responsibility was to lead the litigation of criminal and civil cases for the firm. The cases he litigated ranged from attempted murder to small claims within the counties of Cook, DuPage, Lake, Will and McHenry of Illinois. During his tenure with the firm Michael defended more than 300 criminal trials, won numerous acquittals, and obtained many dropped charges after preliminary hearings, along with hundreds of negotiated settlements.

In 2016, Michael founded the Law Offices of Michael M. Chvatal. As a startup law firm, Michael has represented hundreds of clients and has numerous acquittals in felony, misdemeanor, and traffic matters. He is known for his professionalism, integrity, and proven track record of successfully litigating a wide range of criminal and civil cases.

Michael is an experienced trial attorney who strongly believes in advocating for his client’s rights.
